Chili con Caso

Tuesday, May 25th, 2004

Figured out my title yet? No? Well, they tend to be inside jokes loosely related to the topic contents. Have fun with that one.

Today was the last day of classes! I will never have another high school class ever! I spent my afternoon playing volleyball and swimming with friends to celeberate. Tomorrow I head to the lake.

Who would’ve thought a hole could be this interesting?

I Told You I Would

Tuesday, May 25th, 2004

Throughout the course of my high school career I have come into contact with many arroghant, ignorant, and legalistic “teachers” who did nothing but kill the desire to acquire knowledge which once inhabitted their students. I have also had the pleasure and great honor of meeting a few wonderful and astounding people who did more than teach a subject; they transformed lives. I would like to take this moment to recognize in this space those who fall into the latter category:

  • Mr. Schrader
  • Ms. Gotliboski
  • Mr. Ballew
  • A true blessing it has been to have had these incredible persons enter into my life. May you be so lucky as to meet them yourself!

    What is Racism?

    Monday, May 24th, 2004

I was referred to this excellent article today by a friend and I would like to share it with you. I highly recommend you take a few minutes to absorb the thoughts held within, as I feel they need to be heard by all. Below is a short excerpt:

Here, then is the final, baffling inconsistency about American race relations. All non-whites are allowed to prefer the company of their own kind, to think of themselves as groups with interests distinct from those of the whole, and to work openly for group advantage. None of this is thought to be racist. At the same time, whites must also champion the racial interests of non-whites. They must sacrifice their own future on the altar of “diversity” and cooperate in their own dispossession. They are to encourage, even to subsidize, the displacement of a European people and culture by alien peoples and cultures. To put it in the simplest possible terms, White people are cheerfully to slaughter their own society, to commit racial and cultural suicide. To refuse to do so would be racism.

    Busy Weekend

    Sunday, May 23rd, 2004

To start off, I attended the Choir Banquet with Lindsey on Friday night. No, I’m not in choir, but I was lucky enough to be invited to by a choir member. One of my friends grabbed a pic of me gettin’ my groove on near the end of the night. ‘Twas a good time, getting to see lots of friends and dance… always fun. Especially good to have a fun time with everyone since we’ll be going off to college all too soon!

Saturday was my litte brother Andrew’s ninth birthday party up at the neighborhood clubhouse. It was a pool party and the favorite thing for the little kids was to play “try and drown Will”, so I took on 8 little kids and threw them around in the pool. They had a blast, I had a good time, so the world was perfect. My buddy Matt also came, since he’s known Andrew and the family for a long time. He was launching those kids up the the air and all kinds of stuff, too… fun.

After three hours of playing in the pool, I went home and crashed… lack of sleep from the previous weeks tends to catch up with me in the late afternoons. A phone call woke me up at nine and I decided to head out to one of the many senior parties going on. Good idea, too! I went to my other friend Lindsey’s house and had a great time messin’ around and hanging out. Left late in the night.

This morning I dragged myself out of bed to go to church in the Woodland’s at my old youth pastor Bryan’s church. Matt went with me. After church was a crawfish boil for all the seniors and I had a good time visiting with friends. Right after leaving, a buddy called me to see if I wanted to go play paintball on his friend’s ranch. Matt and I agreed. In the end, it turned out to be more of a jungle than a ranch, but we had a good time.

This coming week is gonna be busy, finishing up finals and getting things in order for graduation. I’m also a bit apprehensive of my graduation lunch with my relatives.. and my father. Ah, stressful.. I hate it all, but we’ll see how it goes.

    Kiss the Cook

    Friday, May 21st, 2004

This week has just been floating by… drag myself off to school late, just socialize all day long, come home and sleep… wake up around nine PM and do whatever or work, then sleep around one or two in the morning. Rinse. Repeat.

Today I cooked stir-fry chicken and vegetables for my speech class. The assignment was to do a demonstrative speech incorporating a skill of ours, so I showed off some cooking. The class loved it and the girls pointed out numerous times how they were impressed… I can’t complain.

Tonight is the choir banquet. I was asked by Lindsey and there willl be good food and dancing. What’s not to like?
