The Second Time

Wednesday, June 30th, 2004

I saw Spider-Man 2 again last night at the midnight world premiere downtown, and it was even better the second time around. I’ve written my review of the movie and I invite you to leave your thoughts as well.

Tomorrow morning I’m traveling to San Marcos to attend the Texas State fresman orientation session. It will last until Friday afternoon and will include all sorts of informational meetings, but most importantly course selection. I’m pretty excited to meet tons of new people and get a feel for what the campus is like. Wish me luck!

Truly “Amazing”

Tuesday, June 29th, 2004

Ah, yes… that movie about me, Spider-Man 2, is quite amazing (as am I)! I attended the pre-screaning at the Westchase Tinseltwon tonight and it was incredible! I’m gonna go eat now, but before I go: you must see it! I’ve tickets again for it on the Imax at midnight tomorrow. Go see it!

Forums – Mwhaha

Monday, June 28th, 2004

Yes, I got the idea to setup some forums for my website. I don’t expect them to take off or anything, but feel free to sign-up and join the discussion! If you want any new sections or whatnot, just let me know. Perhaps it could take off – who knows? They’re not quite finished; just some icons and such to customize, but it’s functional.

The Real Spider-Man

Sunday, June 27th, 2004

Yes, I must confess: Spider-Man and I are one and the same. I have secretely been hiding my identity for years, creating spin-off comics and now movies in order to cover my tracks, but now I must come clean. Proof? Why, just take a look at a few pictures captured on my last excursion into the city above. A touch wonderous, no? The world feels much different 30 stories up in the middle of the night. Enjoy… stories to come later, perhaps. (Nothing self-incriminating, haha.)

Fahrenheit 9/11 – Truth Plays No Part

Friday, June 25th, 2004

I have been reading up on opposing views and commentaries regarding the Michael Moore’s latest documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11. Hailed as the savior of the left, Moore’s film, amoung other things, paints the Bush clan as an elitest and insatiable family bent on developing their own wealth at the expense of the American people. He also contradicts himself on numorous accounts and blatently ignores the proven facts of the Bush administration, Saddam, and the leadership and opperation of post-9/11 America.

Indeed, Moore’s affected and ostentatious concern for black America is one of the most suspect ingredients of his pitch package. In a recent interview, he yelled that if the hijacked civilians of 9/11 had been black, they would have fought back, unlike the stupid and presumably cowardly white men and women (and children). Never mind for now how many black passengers were on those planes—we happen to know what Moore does not care to mention: that Todd Beamer and a few of his co-passengers, shouting “Let’s roll,” rammed the hijackers with a trolley, fought them tooth and nail, and helped bring down a United Airlines plane, in Pennsylvania, that was speeding toward either the White House or the Capitol. There are no words for real, impromptu bravery like that, which helped save our republic from worse than actually befell. The Pennsylvania drama also reminds one of the self-evident fact that this war is not fought only “overseas” or in uniform, but is being brought to our cities. Yet Moore is a silly and shady man who does not recognize courage of any sort even when he sees it because he cannot summon it in himself. To him, easy applause, in front of credulous audiences, is everything.

Be sure and read this report by Chris Hitchens of MSNBC for a balanced and honest look at the movie, and for the opposing view, Guerilla News Network has a few reviews by their staff. I will be presenting my own thoughts and criticism after I watch it for myself, which will hopefully be soon.
