Mud Fest!

Saturday, July 24th, 2004

All week I knew that I had something to do on Saturday, but I couldn’t remember what or with whom I was going to be involved. Well, this morning it suddenly jumped into my head: I was going to Mud Fest with David and Ryan! What is this event, you ask? Well, it’s a big competition held once a year where off-roaders from all around Texas get together and compeat in timed trials that test (and often rip apart) their vehicles. In short, it’s awesome! Held past Old Town Spring on the Creek… Grab some great pics and video for sure.

I was at Mud Fest all afternoon, and needless to say I got a touch burnt. Afterwards, I headed over to my sister’s house to give her a birthday present and found out that she was having a party (how did I not know?), so I stayed and joined in the fun! Her and her husband, Paul, have the best friends. Anyways, I didn’t bring a date on such short notice but had a blast regardless. Great time in the pool, hanging out, cooking STEAKS, and all other good party things.

Today was a good day. Be sure and check out this video!

Now that I’m going to print business cards, I can’t decide between black or white. Check out the preview image and tell me which one you prefer.

Doing Business As

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

Between working today I created a new business card idea to represent myself. It’s pretty much finished, except for a few minor touches and optimization for printing. Your thoughts?

Also, I thought this quote was funny:

“You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America’s Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn’t want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named ‘Bush’, ‘Dick’, and ‘Colon’.” – Chris Rock

That is all.

Not quite sure what this is about… but it’s entertaining.

More Fahrenheit 9/11 Crap

Monday, July 19th, 2004

I finally watched the film for myself this evening. No, I didn’t give any money to Michael Moore – I pirated the video off the internet. Anyways, I could not believe the outright falsehoods that he was portraying as facts… It would take too long for me to list all my objections here.

I suggest you read my previous postings on the subject:

  • Mikey and the Almighty
  • F 9/11 – Truth Plays No Part
  • These news articles:

  • Fact and Fanaticism: Deconstructing ‘F 9/11′
  • Unfairenheit 9/11
  • And especially visit these websites:

  • MooreWatch
  • Fahrenheit Fact
  • Lots of informative reading to be had. It just boggles the mind that people will take Michael Moore at his word and believe his lies and misrepresentations.

Edit: Thanks to Caroline for sending me this great link to Michael Moore Hates America, a documentary about regular American people, their hopes and dreams, as well as Moore’s claims about the country. Looks like a great film to me; check the link.
