Birthday Bash

Sunday, January 23rd, 2005

Late Friday afternoon my good friend Lacey came up from Texas A&M and me and some more of her friends took her out to Austin to celeberate her birthday. We hit up Chuy’s and 6th street and all that good stuff. I discovered that it is indeed possible to salsa dance in rapid concession to hip-hop music. Very valuable information, indeed.

An Arm and a Leg

Wednesday, January 19th, 2005

Well, the first two days of classes are done! I’m having a great time and loving being back. Only drawbacks: homework and the fact that I just spent $400.23 on books and art supplies… and I still have another class to pay for! Ridiculous.

Anyways, my 2-D Design class is really looking good and my teachers aren’t bad. This semester is going to filled with alot of work, school, and fun.

They Can Lock You Up Without a Trial

Tuesday, January 18th, 2005

On Sunday, Jan 2, Dana Priest, writing in the Washington Post, described the plans of the Pentagon and the Justice Department to imprison indefinitely, perhaps for life, persons it wants “removed” from society. Having committed no crime, but believed to be associated with “terrorism” however that is defined at any given moment in time “the people will live in prison camps modeled on American prisons.”

At this moment, the CIA admits that it has imprisoned hundreds of people in foreign prisons. Amnesty International puts that number at well over 1000. This is another case where the government is exceeding its bounds. Be sure and read the full article on GNN.tv.

University Yet Again

Saturday, January 15th, 2005

I have just finished unpacking my stuff and getting re-settled in my dorm here at TX State. It feels good to be back on familiar ground, although I definitely miss the comfort of my sister’s place and her company. But, many adventures await (pray that the cops leave me alone this semester).

Swing, Swing

Thursday, January 13th, 2005

I’ve been trying to get myself back into the swing of things; working up relatively early, working, designing. School starts next Wednesday… I love going back to college, but I’m not too excited about classes.

I recieved my order of 500 premium, glossy business cards. Every single one of them was cut crooked. So, VistaPrint is sending me another 500 on the house. Nice.
