Research

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Once again, I am up to all hours of the night doing school work. I am currently in the process of studying for a history exam, as well as finishing off a research paper. I’ve come to the point where I am actually proud of the research paper. I think I’ve spent more time on it than all my other college and high school papers combined, and it’s really turning out well. I only wish that I had another week to really turn it into something great.

Satanic Messages

Wednesday, March 30th, 2005

The claim has been made many times in the past that artists such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd embedd submlimanal messages within their music. These messages are said to contain “satanic” suggestions and other evil content. Well, you can now judge for yourself using the Jeff Milner playback machine. I guess “they” were right: rock ‘n roll is the devil!

Get Over Yourself

Saturday, March 26th, 2005

In researching for an essay due this week, I came across an excellent article regarding race relations. The author encounters a self-righteous member of a minority group who plays the race the card unashamedly. The author’s response is excellent.

“You just want me to be white.” Susan said. Her shoulderpads squared; her metallic purple upper lip stiffened like a U-boat breaching the water; the brightly painted and decaled acrylic nails that adorned her fingers dug into the fiberboard arms of the office chair. She was, I realized, doing her best Rosa Parks. Her best Martin Luther King. Her best Saladin staring down the Infidel hordes at Jerusalem.

She was just like them. All of them. Except she had no cause.

It’s worth your time to read the complete piece. Right on.

The College Grind

Saturday, March 26th, 2005

I’ve got two tests next week, a 2000 word research paper to write, a couple hundred pages to read, and another test and another paper coming up the following week. Oh, and not to mention a web project I need to complete and the Kappa Sigma Fite Nite stuff to get organized. And that is why I am writing this at 3:40 in the morning.

Sleep? A thing of the past.
