CSS Ragweed

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Ah, the close of another great day. Don’t ya just love it when the universe seems to be going your way?

Anyways, I leisurely woke up around 10am this morning, and went straight to work finishing off a new interface that I’ve been working on. The joy is that it incorporates what are known as Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The older method of designing web sites uses “tables” to generate the layout, but that way is stagnant and doesn’t allow for easy modification of style elements across multiple pages. To make a long story short, CSS is way better and enables much cleaner and efficient control over web pages.

Tonight the university put on a big concert in Sewell Park, within walking distance of my dorm. The band featured was Cross Canadian Ragweed. They are a Texas band, and it showed, as the place was packed! My estimate is around two to three thousand people showed up. Too bad I forgot my digicam (as usual). I saw lots of my friends there and definitely enjoyed it all.

Now it’s time to work on my psychology project!

Calm Before the Storm

Monday, April 18th, 2005

This week is going to be relatively slow. I only have one speech to write, a bit of a psychology project to finish off, and one web project to work on. Oh, and I need to do some history ready *sigh*. Other than that, I’ve got nothing to do (notice the sarcasm in my voice).

Today I began outlining my speech, but got sidetracked and made this, a typographic social commentary. Two colors (not counting white), one font, minimalistic. The symbolism is all there–just look for it.

Intellectual Stimulation

Thursday, April 14th, 2005

Wow, I just got finished with a four hour conversation that started out with religion and encompassed everything from gender identity to the state of the soul in a mechanized culture. Gotta love it… It’s great to meet other people who contemplate and examine the world they live in. Question life, motives, institutions, government, religion, society! Question all that is–and never cease in the pursuit of truth.

Small-fry Counterfeiters

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

A 12-year-old Seattle student and his buddies were caught after allegedly using a PC to counterfeit $20 worth of $1 bills that were used in the cafeteria to buy food, school officials said. This is too funny!

Incredible Success

Fite Nite was amazing! The 45th annual Fite Nite set new precedents for events on Texas State campus. A new generation has come to realize the greatness of Kappa Sigma!

I have uploaded all the pictures and videos that I took of the event. Be sure and view them here. It is time to finally relax…
